Nickie Harte Kelly ” Continuing on in his tradition of exploring progressive rock, jazz and classical music, Tenk Van Dool is truly hitting his stride with this new release. This excursion is also thoughtful and moody, laced with irony and sarcasm at times, and hard-hitting too, with plenty of percussion for those who like their drums complex. Tenk’s inventive and imaginative guitars are the centerpiece throughout, which really is showcased on the longest track here.

when you walked through the room the eyes rolled the host must have been beholden to you the one naive person that spoke with you grew weary before the night was through you bragged about the car you drive I doubt you know what the payments are you're a product of parents that had the means to create a monster, they admire from afar your fly is down bragging about your delusional conquests you nearly cleared the room in the corner they quietly skewered you because that’s what kind people do why don’t you climb into that beautiful car and drive into the sunset and ponder the who and the what that you are for the sake of those who've seen behind the curtain your fly is down

the chaos that it brings wanting so the precious still I hid my face turned my back again needles, fronds and trash I’m sheltered from the gnash In custody entrusted with the flame I’m hidden from the wind the sullen sun obscured I’ll try again when I find a reason to stir as far as I can see the wind and crows agree today there is no solitude for me I hide behind the wind reside inside the wind hidden from forbidden from and deriven from I’ll keep you company a whisper from the trees balance frivolity with reality wind, the wind has set my sails again like a sailor locked in place in circles and disgraced this page has taken toll has made our spirits whole the wind and I submit to a carrot and a stick I’m finding comfort in the things of changing norm a solitude borne on the wake from a dream the doubts that lied within effetely trespass away banished to other where deceive wind, the wind you set my sails again was a sailor locked in place in circles and disgraced this page has taken toll has made our spirits whole the wind and I submit to a carrot and a stick

a loving mother scolds her son it’s what she has to do he apologized through teary eyes staring at his shoes some of us will understand and some of us are fools he was aggressive toward another child cause he doesn't like to lose he was out of bounds, and so he found that's what children do some of us will understand and some of us are fools our brains are all connected the internet's the glue Corey ties the final knot and stares beyond the room the other kids make fun of him for things he can't undo work them up, then turn them off fill your tin with tears one simple act of kindness not an easy thing to hear so he says a prayer and kicks the chair that’s what words can do work them up, then turn them off fill your tin with tears you stole from someone frail you can grow a beard like Rasputin play God to a bunch of fools you've given up your heart and soul to the human zoo Keith was a virtuoso incredible to view he filled the world with melody it’s what he loved to do ravaged by the hands of time his friends said he was through when they kicked the door he checked out cause that’s what people do in the stupid human zoo!

lemongrass and thyme I met you on a sunny day your velvet words left me stranded when you smiled and turned away lemongrass and thyme you overlooked that I was mesmerized my heart reached out with a thousand arms but you didn’t know you were mine stay can I hold your gaze? can we struggle together against time and space may I admire from afar your windblown hair? will you cry to me when your dreams aren’t there? lemongrass and thyme our paths were destined to entwine always meant to take the time but things just got away stay your company is the beginning and the end of me can we endlessly live this garden life? where we happily share the things we like lemongrass and thyme I saw your name just the other day a concrete path and an iron gate a threshold and a heavy door stay can I hold your gaze can we struggle together against time and space may I admire from afar your windblown hair? will you cry to me when your dreams aren’t there?

about

This is the second album in a row to win us "Featured artist of the month" on www.progrock.com and continues our alchemy of rock, jazz and classical influence with blistering organ and guitar, odd harmonics and heavy drumming.
Riding on an avalanche of musical ideas these songs came together rather quickly. The music is played with sarcasm and intensity, then passing through dark and melancholy, into the ethereal and back into the light. A musical journey of sorts.
Features the beautiful and talented Amanda Lehmann (Innocence and Illusion, and Steve Hackett's band) singing "The Wind". And Kevin McConnell singing "Human Zoo".

about

Temple of Switches California

"The two mainstays throughout are sections with an often subtle but distinct jazz flavoring applied to them, sometimes from bass and drums, on other occasions by way of the keyboards, and here and there we are treated to almost purebred jazz-oriented music too. The other red thread throughout, albeit perhaps on a slightly lesser note, are quirky, subtly atonal instrument details" Progmessor 5/2021 ... more
